3d visuals help council grant planning after opposition
Plans for the former Bus Depot on Magdalen Street in Colchester have been approved after years of uncertainty. The site which was previously owned by Colchester Council, looked as though it may be refused on grounds that it was over developed. Although planning officers had recommended the plans, it was faced by widespread objections by councillors, but after careful consideration taking into account all points raised it was given approval in September.
The scheme which was originally submitted by Fleming Maguire Architects will be run by Victoria Halls Management. Victoria Halls which currently runs accommodation in 28 locations across the UK through is brand ‘Host’, also has plans to further expand this by 1500 beds. The accommodation will house approximately 230 students in 16 studios and 60 cluster flats, and will also include bin stores, cycle spaces, a management office, gym and communal amenity areas.
CRISP3D who have a successful relationship with both O’Connell East and Victoria Halls on a number of refurbishment and new build schemes, were asked to produce the 3d visuals for this scheme. CRISP3D relationship with Victoria Halls has ranged from space planning and 3d visuals at their Wembley site, layouts and 3d visuals for the refurbishment at Shand House Cardiff, with similar services offered at other sites, including Manchester.
CRISP3D has produced 3d visuals and space planning for many student accommodation providers, and in other sectors including PRS, hotels, private residential and offices. This has been both directly, or as part of a ongoing relationship with architects, designers or furniture manufacturers.
